Musikene Series at Chillida Leku - Kontuz Duo

Musikene Series at Chillida Leku

Once again, Chillida Leku hosts a concert series in collaboration with Musikene, the Basque Country’s Higher School of Music, within the framework of the agreement signed by both institutions. This highlights the close relationship that Eduardo Chillida’s work has always had with music.

This program supports emerging young musicians and also offers a different approach to the sculptor’s work by incorporating new perspectives and ways of understanding sculpture and the space of Zabalaga, this time through sound.

Kontuz Duo, formed by the saxophonist from Alicante Pablo Mira and the Portuguese accordionist Pedro Rolão, was born from the shared enthusiasm of two young musicians with the desire to create and express themselves beyond the academic sphere: an opportunity to find, through music, a space of freedom. They regularly have the chance to study with Marko Šervalić, Iñaki Alberdi, Miguel Ángel Lorente and Thomas Barthelemy.
