The silence between the sounds

  • Summer 2026

The presence of silence is fundamental in both life and music. We live immersed in a constant stream of incitement, which makes deep listening and reflection difficult. In this context, silence takes on a profound significance. Likewise, in the works that make up this program, silences play an essential role: they are not an absence, but a radical part of the musical discourse itself. This idea connects with the thought of Eduardo Chillida, in whose work silence can be likened to emptiness, and in this case, emptiness is not nothingness but rather becomes a space of possibility, of encounter, and of inner resonance.
