Participatory Workshop Biribilgune

This activity is part of the Urban Fauna Resort project, an open call for the creation of art installations that serve as refuges for insects in the parks of Donostia. The architectural duo of Ane Escribano and Iker de la Hoz will lead this workshop for people experiencing social exclusion, in collaboration with the team of biologists from Aranzadi.

Their work, Biribilgune—the winning entry in the call for proposals—is a circle constructed from recycled materials. A symbol of wholeness and life, this art installation provides a refuge designed to highlight the natural cycles of ecological succession, fostering coexistence among different species.

Urban Fauna Resort is a collaboration between the Aranzadi Society of Sciences and the Chillida Leku Museum, and is part of the Biartekomugi project—a transformative experience that combines science, art, technology, active mobility, and citizen participation.
