Landscape Together - Meeting with Nagore Legarreta

  • Event

Shared Mediations, part of the European project Landscape Together, features the participation of Chillida Leku and presents photographic records of the actions carried out in 2024 both at the museum and in central Portugal. Photographer Nagore Legarreta captured these moments through her lens. Her artistic sensitivity allows the images to go beyond mere documentary recording. Nagore Legarreta offers both an artistic and personal perspective on the project. Far from functioning as simple documentation, her photographs invite viewers to look beyond the visible, capturing the energy and intensity that permeate the project. The images reveal the involvement of the artistic community and the human and collective dimension of the work, becoming a visual narrative that interprets and amplifies the lived experience.

About Nagore Legarreta (Hernani, 1981)

She holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication. She began her career in photography and communication, working as a journalist and photographer for Hernaniko Kronika from 2003 to 2009. Since then, she has focused on photography, creativity, and arts education.

She has completed commissions in collaboration with various creators to generate the visual imagery of their projects, including Maite Larburu, Olatz Salvador, Nerihari (Myriam Perez Cazabón), and Anari, among others. In addition, through experimental photography, she has developed her own visual language. In 2016, she presented her first conceptually based work, titled Hysteron. The project has been part of several notable exhibitions, such as a collective show alongside Esther Ferrer and Marina Abramović at the University of Pau in 2018.

Subsequently, she initiated and developed the projects Suzko Irudiak (2017–2025) and Ibaia ez da Toki Bat (2017–2025), which have also earned her recognition. In August 2025, Ibaia ez da Toki Bat was presented at the BIENALSUR Contemporary Art Biennial in Buenos Aires.

In 2019, she created her first public work: a 45 x 3 meter screen-printed and backlit glass mural commissioned by the Astigarraga City Council, portraying the bodies of 240 women from the municipality.

In addition to her photographic practice and image creation, she conducts workshops in various areas of photography and creative expression.
