Movement workshop: inhabiting the limit
- Workshops
This movement and meditation workshop, inspired by Limina, the exhibition by Koen Vanmechelen, invites us to return to the body as a meeting point between the domesticated and the wild; the human and the animal. Through movement, meditation, and the dialogue between Vanmechelen and Chillida, we will explore the natural wisdom we carry within: intuition, that deep language that connects us to all living beings.
If, as Chillida said, “the limit is the true protagonist of space,” this workshop offers the possibility of using the body as a path to recognise and inhabit the boundaries that separate—or rather, connect—us with our own nature and, therefore, with the world around us. It also awakens our capacity for empathy with the environment. The workshop begins with a short presentation of the exhibition, followed by a brief group dynamic to foster connection and create a shared space.
Then, we move into a guided Animal Flow practice: a sequence of movements inspired by the animal world, designed to intuitively connect with the body, open it up, and release tension—allowing the rational mind to step aside. Next, a stillness meditation invites us to settle inward and inhabit the present moment, integrating thoughts, sensations, and emotions.
The experience continues with an intuitive visit to the exhibition, where participants are invited to explore the spaces without filters, discovering their own internal boundaries and the influence of the mind on the body. Finally, the session closes with a space for collective reflection, to integrate the experience and share what was lived together. We recommend wearing warm, comfortable clothing and bringing a small cushion.
